I did tweet about this but I feel it's worth repeating.
I was witness to a terribly British conversation in my local shop.
Shopkeeper: I'm sorry, I can't serve you, you've been banned.
Bloke: That was ages ago.
S: It was a lifetime ban.
B: I know, but I thought it had ended.
S: No.
B: I'm so sorry, I didn't realise, goodbye.
S: Goodbye.
I'm not sure what grabbed my attention, the idea of a lifetime ban ending pre-mortem or the apologetic finale - I had half expected a fight to break out.
