Shooting straight into the lead this year are Aubrey Melville and Máire Garvey, the organisers of a music festival in Sligo, Ireland. The unique selling point of this event was the alcohol-free policy, not what you’d call a guaranteed winner in that part of the world. Pre-event estimates of 1500 attendees proved overly optimistic with about 100 people actually turning up throughout the day. For most of the 19 acts there were more people on stage than in the audience and at the end of the day the sole burger stall owner was bemoaning his stock of unsold wares.
Coming up next year from the same organisers, a meat-free barbeque.
